about

February 19.
'97 Miles Davis gets a star on the sidewalk in Hollywood
'95 Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson are married, and presumably hours later produced one of the last celebrity hardcore videos to be bootlegged and sold physically.
'80 Bon Scott dies
'76 Tower of Power vocalist Rich Stevens is arrested for a triple homicide
'56 The Platters record the tune 'Magic Touch'

"Here I go reeling,..uh-oh, I'm feeling The Glow,
But where can I go from you?"

Not terrible company in consolation for a release clearly marked for February 14. The date lined up well with the long established title of the project, and also marked 4 years since the release of Dinosaur Dragonfly's S/T debut.

A lot has happened in those 4 years. Mostly uneventful, personally and creatively. Though the cold cellar walls of addiction give no weight to outside activity regardless of it's perceived importance. To contrast, Meth makes everything an activity. So it all evens out, and there's been a standard amount of chronic pain and looming death to pull from for this material.

Flip-flopping between an absurd amount of liner info, and simply stating "We out here", I realized this material isn't the easiest to talk about. I'll aim for brevity and let the work speak in its own power, but first;
X-Ray Mind by Mad Season is a clear nod to Stephen Morris' "Hendrix jamming in a slaughterhouse" ideals built upon for Atrocity Exhibition.^

'Teaching Lesson's at the Edge of Despair' began a couple years ago as a collection of Black Metal songs which are slated to be the first Volume of this series. While still holding on to the idea of a proper DSBM release, this is always going to be Dinosaur Dragonfly. With nearly 90 minutes of unreleased material heading into 2021, the idea for the DinoDrag Split Series sprung. Nobody wants to hear 90mins of me..and much of the material is scattered from the annexes of Field Recordings all the way to Lo-Fi Field Recording's with Guitars. In other words, there's a lot of pieces in this puzzle box designated for loose puzzle pieces to perish. While the Splits remain a huge focus of the year, there's some songs I have to face personal accountability for. I figured there was a near-complete tracklist for a 60min Full Length...but every attempt to mix anything down starts a thread-pulling which reveals even more material. I'm pretty sure this is just the Album that will never be complete, and the only way to ensure any of it drops before I do is to go in small chapters.

Physical copies will drop every 2 Volumes, one-time pressings of 9.
The first batch will all come with specially cured Happy Valentine Glass Rose's.

^This shit is devastating. Every day a new gauntlet of 'how the fuck am I going to keep this all together, and still find time to get high?' My survival is owed to my privilege. I'm a white dude with the power of a union guarding my income, and some of y'all splashing love on my crusty ass. You've gone out of your own troubled ways to make sure I don't become a fossil in the Tyndall bars which confine us to stewardship of Treaty One Territory, however you play your part in the mud. Thank you. Though these sounds are truly owned by those on the obliteration mainline who aren't fortunate enough to battle the current in privacy, and without the assurance that the net of systematic supremacy will catch them every fucking time. The true Heads are out chopping Trek's and timing shots like a field medic just to keep moving forward, for reason unknown to any of us. I see you, I hear you, I owe you all and always, I Love You. May your bubbles be uncracked and your crack uncut.

Pigs get fucked.
Mega-Guillotine + anyone who picks up the phone.
